So apparently, not everyone agrees with me that I Want to Work for Diddy is a good show. Some people feel like it is poorly done. I enjoy the show for what it is, so I don't really understand that sentiment. I mean it's a reality TV show to be Diddy's "Mr. Bentley," how serious could the show be? But hey, to each his own. I find it very entertaining.
So episode 2 was another interesting episode. The rest of the house finds out that Laverne is a transgender. I'm not sure how they couldn't figure it out on first glance. We don't know for sure yet if she's a transsexual, a transvestite or some other crazy thing someone could be, but my guess is she's a transsexual. I still say that I don't see Diddy having a transsexual personal assistant, so we'll see how long she lasts.
Rob also dropped a bombsell on the house. The ex-Military man came out of the closet. I actually can't say that I was that surprised. I remember in the series premiere seeing some sweetness in him. He's obviously not flamboyant and that's probably from having to cover it up in the Army for 4.5 years because of the whole "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
The challenge this week was to navigate through the woods in 8 hours as a team to find 3 checkpoints using only a map, protractor and a compass. The forest didn't seem that big, so both teams should have been able to do it, but neither team finished. The Uptown team ended up facing a elimination not because the Downtown team won, but because the Downtowners just lost better.

The house was woken up at 5AM & given only 5 minutes to get dressed to helicopter over to the Army base
Rob, being the ex Army man, was supposed to lead his team through the woods easily, but he sucked. I could tell by the way he and everyone else was hyping up his experience that he was unfortunately gonna fall flat on his face. But before they could even get started, Kim a.k.a. "Poprah" started coughing up a lung. She claimed that her asthma was acting up because of the high pollen concentration, but everyone thought that she was faking because she didn't want to endure the physicality of the challenge. I think I'll agree with that sentiment as well. It came at too much of an opportune time.
So Kim went in an ambulance to the hospital and the Uptown team was ecstatic, thinking they'd definitely be able to handle the challenge without her bossiness or lack of mobility. After about a couple of hours of aimlessly walking around like the Israelites in the Wilderness, however, they realized that Rob actually didn't know what he was doing. They had to walk all the way back to the starting point. Then when they actually found the first checkpoint, they answered the question wrong saying that Diddy had only won a single Grammy (instead of 3). He won Grammys for his parts in "I'll Be Missing You" (1998) & "Shake Ya Tailfeather" (2004), and his debut solo album No Way Out (1998).
The Downtown team had 6 players to drag around, but they were somehow able to answer two questions. They still failed the mission, but at least they did better than the Uptown team. I think that team is filled with people who should get kicked off, but if they keep winning then they'll just hang around.
After the failed mission, the Uptown team made the mistake of voting Kim into elimination again. Actually it was a close vote between Rob (who failed as the team leader) and Kim (who didn't even compete). When Rob & Kim made their cases for why they should stay, Kim absolutely destroyed Rob. She said that Rob was just like a used car salesman: big on promise, but small on delivery. When Rob argued that Kim didn't seem physically or mentally fit for the competition because she got "sick," Kim fired back that in business you do get sick days, but there are no incompetent days. Shux.
So surprise surprise, Rob got sent home. I wonder if the Uptown team now realizes that maybe it's actually not a good idea to vote Kim into elimination. Even if she does deserve to be sent home, she's so determined to be Diddy's assistant that she'll just out speak/argue whomever she's up against.
In episode 3, the crew goes to Paris for their next challenge. It has something to do with finding a model in Paris and then doing a photo shoot. I feel bad for whoever gets eliminated. That'll be one sad flight home.
